Brennan Schliphack
Brennan Schliphack (he/him) from Bolton, CT is a multifaceted individual as an educator, entrepreneur, tech-enthusiast, aspiring licensed professional counselor, athlete, husband, and brother. Brennan is passionate about environmental rights, accessibility, social justice advocacy, and mental health.
Brennan holds a diverse academic background, with an associate’s degree (A.S.) in liberal arts and sciences, a bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in sociology with a minor in marketing & technology, and a master’s degree (M.A.) in educational psychology. His studies include quantitative and qualitative research, religion, race, class, gender, sexuality, sociology of food, death and dying, business marketing, technological theory, and graphic arts.
His extensive experience working with youth in various roles, including camp counseling, assistant directorship, REK counseling, boating instructing, town event organizing, and coaching, has shaped his commitment to creating joyful learning environments for youth.
As a former school counselor at Sports & Medical Academy of Hartford and Hall High School in West Hartford, Brennan dedicated himself to creating collaborative, culturally competent, empathetic, and safe spaces for students to express themselves and reach their full potential. Brennan counseled limited income and diverse student populations grounded in Existential Therapy and Person-Centered Theory. During the heart of COVID-19, Brennan focused on providing crisis counseling interventions for students with suicidal ideation. He also taught classes on student orientation, getting connected, self-care, and academic planning.
Brennan has business experience, including startups and general management. He excels in managing finances, operations, marketing, sales, employee relations, customer relationship management, and data analysis.
As a worker-owner of The People’s Saturday School, Brennan is involved as a peer counselor and a co-lead of the Finance and Development team. In his free time, he enjoys playing sports, gaming, and spending quality time with his partner and three kitties.
